Abdul-Jabbar To Join TIME at White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner
(New York, May 2, 2014)—TIME has signed NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as a regular contributing columnist to TIME and TIME.com. Abdul-Jabbar will write an op-ed column and appear in a regular video series.
Earlier this week, Abdul-Jabbar wrote a widely-discussed column for TIME on the race controversy surrounding Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.
Abdul-Jabbar will join TIME at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday, May 3, where he’ll be seated with TIME’s other guests, Oscar-winner actor Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuarón, Oscar-nominated director Steve McQueen and Uber founder Travis Kalanick.
