Fans of legendary basketball star opens in a new windowKareem Abdul-Jabbar will have a chance to hear him speak and share stories based on his 2017 memoir “Becoming Kareem: Growing Up On and Off the Court.”
The stories are based on lessons Abdul-Jabbar learned from mentors such as boxing icon Muhammad Ali, UCLA basketball coach John Wooden and martial arts star Bruce Lee.
The Hall of Famer experienced tremendous success on and off the court and since retiring in 1989 has gone on to author numerous best-selling books and in 2016 he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He has also been featured on television shows and in movies such as “Airplane!” and “Fletch.”
