Kareem Abdul-Jabbar At San Diego Comic-Con Reacts To NBA Pulling Of All-Star Game From North Carolina

NBA legend and first time comic book creator Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is at the San Diego Comic-Con to promote his new comic from Titan Comics, Mycroft Holmes: The Apocalypse Handbook, out August 3, 2016. I had the honor to be given a few minutes of Mr. Abdul-Jabar’s time for an interview, however moments before I went in for the interview it was announced that the NBA was pulling the 2017 NBA All-Star Game from Charlotte, North Carolina as a result of the state’s discriminatory transgender bathroom law. I asked Mr. Abdul-Jabbar for his reaction and he said, “I’m glad they are conscious. I’m pretty disappointed with the state of North Carolina, their voter suppression law and these type of laws should not be what any political entity should be about in the 21st century. I think they are moving backwards in time.”
